Coldplay Use ‘Cool Wall’ To Determine Album Tracks

They have therefore made a list on their “cool wall” to narrow down the choices.
The band, led by singer Chris Martin, has reportedly penned more than 50 songs for its next album, the follow-up to 2008’sViva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.   Coldplay have now posted the names of all the new tracks on their wall and are rating them to see which should be recorded.
A source close to the band blogged, “The names of every idea have been written down – each on their own piece of card. Inevitably, there’s a huge number of cards.”
“The A list are songs that have to go on the record,” the source continued. “The B list are songs that might or might not. The C list contains things that are being left.”
Coldplay are working with Brian Eno on the upcoming album, who has lent his production expertise to such other artists as David Bowie, theTalking Heads and Paul Simon
