The Muppets, number one this Christmas

Two major phenomena of the 80s come together in this video: the classic-rock opera “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen and the characters created by Jim Henson, the muppets. You can find all these characters that shaped a generation: Miss Piggy, Kermit The Frog, Gonzo, Animal and many more, some of them who had not appeared on television for many years.

This video will become a real competition for the Christmas No. 1, defeating, for the moment, “X Factor”, the British version of American Idol that had been number one  for several consecutive years.

The video, became a true phenomenon, has appeared on several news channels worldwide and is emerging as Christmas Number 1 Contender in the list published by The Sun.

This single will be distributed as video and audio by the EMI, to be discharged through all Digital Service Providers.

Muppets Studio general manager Lylle Breier said the video was created to revive the franchise, but the numbers are far beyond what they imagine. Breier said this video won’t be the last one , and a version of “Carol of the Bells” will be presented for Christmas. Given the success shown so far, we can wait a handful of other videos during 2010.

“It’s all part of a plan for new creative content with online, television, a new theatrical movie,” Breier said. “We’re bringing the Muppets back.”

And this Christmas The Muppets are back and they are big.

Is Britney getting married again?

Yet again, the singer and performer scores the cover of OK Magazine -US edition- with an exclusive: She is getting married. But who’s the lucky guy? His name is Jason Trawick. The 37 year old agent reportedly got Britney her short and yet hilarious role in How I Met Your Mother. One of the good things we like the most about him, besides his looks, is that he’s not going to gain anything from dating Britney. He is a well- established professional with a long and solid career under his belt.

Brit’s parents already gave thumbs up to the beau, but what it was really more important to the pop diva, was her children’s approval. And according to close sources, Sean called him daddy, so that pretty much solves the issue.

The reality is Britney looks better than ever, and very much focused on her family and career.
This would be the third marriage for the international 28 year old pop sensation.

Let’s recapitulate: The first lucky guy was childhood pal Jason Alexander. The news of the impulsive Vegas marriage, taken place on January 2004, shook the entire word, no joke. The event was recreated by Jennifer Aniston on Saturday Night Live. The marriage was annulled 55 hours later.

Less than a year after that, she gets married again, this time with back up dancer Kevin Federline. Kevin gave her two gorgeous sons: Sean, 4 and Jayden, 3. The couple divorced in 2007 and Britney declared: “I think I married for the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and doing something that made me really happy, I just did it for the idea of everything.”
But now everything is different. She wants to get married to the man that according to close sources she wants to spend the rest of her life with. And she wants to do it big, yet avoiding the spectacle –she would leave the Circus for her performances. Mexico, Australia, Hawaii or Costa Rica –where the couple spent their first get away- would be the possible settings of the celebration. We wish them the best. Stay tuned.

Rihanna sings about her difficult experience

In recent months, controversy arose after the artist’s picture, with her face swollen and bruised, she began to reveal what was the horrific experience of abuse and violence.

Her latest album is a completely personal experience although she did not intended to be like that. It was exactly what she was trying to get away with her music. She revealed “When I was about to start the record, that was the first thing I said: ‘I do not want no sad songs. I do not want no songs about love.” At that moment she could not face what had happened neither in public nor private.

But there was clearly some things that she had to overcome and they emerged into her music. She helped write 9 of the 13 songs on the album. There are not sad songs but rather strong, about rebirth and regain her own power.

Although reluctant to become a survivor of domestic violence, the experience helped her make what she herself calls “the album of a lifetime,”. She managed to transform a horrible experience into something positive. This not only demonstrates her artistry as a musician but also gives an example of what can happen and how to overcome that situation.

“Rated R” is an album that the artist is honest very close to the heart. And journalist in NyTimes wrote about it: “ ‘Rated R’ does what divas do: leverage personal troubles into music. And with it, Rihanna never lets her sorrows overwhelm her musical craftsmanship or the determination behind it”.

Lady Gaga thinks herself as freak

Lady Gaga revealed in a recent interview she doesn’t try to attract attention with her exaggerated attire, but rather give a chance to those who feel odd, different, or too strange, to be themselves. But her attempt to reach to those excluded is not a selfish or exhibitionist gesture but a part of her own experience: “I did not fit in in high school, and I felt like a freak. So I like to create this atmosphere for my fans where they feel like they have a freak in me to hang out with, and they do not feel alone.”

The feeling of exclusion that she felt in school when she herself was one of the outcast that today she extends her hands, is the inspiration for their dramatic performances. She will talk more about her personal experience that inspired to create her new show in an forthcoming interview in the Ellen DeGeneres talk show.

She is another star that shows young people who feel out of place, that appearances  are not important. Gaga explained, “I want my fans to know that it’s OK. Sometimes in life you do not always feel like a winner, but that does not mean you’re not a winner.”

The attire of the artist, in the same way of other stars, serves as an inspiration not only to identify themselves but also as a example to many young people who feel themselves outside of the social norms and stereotypes. A dose of hope can be found in the words of the artist.
