A few months ago there was a rumor that Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe would be seen together again on the big screen with a leading role in the film adaptation of “The Little Mermaid”.
Even though both Hogwarts alumni denied the rumors arguing it was just an April Fool’s Day joke, the rumor has again gained strength.
In recent days, there is strong news that Sofia Coppola, who has made a name for herself with films like Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette, is negotiating to direct The Little Mermaid. And on that basis, the rumor that Emma Watson would be taking up the lead role as Ariel has resurfaced, as well as Radcliffe would be her beloved prince.
So far no Watson’s or Coppola’s representatives have said anything about it, but it is known that “The Little Mermaid” will be made by Universal, with a script written by Abi Morgan.
