Former CNN anchor Don Lemon, now the host of his own streaming program, “The Don Lemon Show,” has taken a significant step in his personal life, tying the knot with his longtime partner, Tim Malone, this past Saturday.
The ceremony, held at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in midtown Manhattan, was attended by approximately 140 guests, including notable figures such as former “Today” show host Matt Lauer, “View” co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Ana Navarro, as well as Alec Baldwin, Clive Davis, Luann de Lesseps from “Real Housewives of New York City,” and Tamron Hall. Notably, Lemon and Malone exited the church with huge smiles, accompanied by their three dogs, who were part of the festivities.
Dressed in stylish velvet tuxedos by Suit Supply, Don Lemon donned a striking green while Tim Malone opted for a sophisticated navy. Following the ceremony, guests were set to enjoy a reception at Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The Journey of Don Lemon and Tim Malone
This momentous occasion marks eight years since Don Lemon and Tim Malone began their relationship, which originated from a chance encounter at Almond Restaurant in Bridgehampton, New York. The wedding also coincided with Malone’s birthday and the five-year anniversary of their engagement.
In an interview with People prior to the wedding, Lemon expressed his excitement, revealing,
“I’m a last-minute person, and most things I just don’t worry about. But this one I’m secretly worried about, but I’m letting Tim take the reins because he’s a good planner.”
The ceremony, officiated by their friend and United States ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, incorporated marriage traditions from both Lemon and Malone’s families.
Reflecting on their decision to have a large wedding, Malone remarked, “We wanted to make a public statement and we wanted to involve our loved ones. We obviously could have easily gone to city hall. We could have used Covid as a perfect excuse to do something really quiet. But I think this is also a message.”
Don Lemon and Tim Malone were serenaded with Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” as they entered the church, and they exited to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” marking the beginning of their journey as a married couple.
