Rebel Wilson has revealed in her new memoir, “Rebel Rising,” that comedian and actor Mickey Gooch Jr. was her first sexual partner at the age of 35. In a candid admission, Wilson writes to her “How to Be Single” co-star, “Micks, I know this might be news to you if you are reading this, but yes, I lost my virginity to you.”
The “Pitch Perfect” star, now 44, shared with the New York Times that Gooch “was the first person to read” her book, so he now knows. Wilson expressed in her memoir that her weight struggles contributed to her waiting so long to have sex, stating,
“As a big girl, no one would ever truly find me sexually attractive.”
Rebel Wilson disclosed that her mother’s breast cancer diagnosis motivated her to live in the moment, saying,
“Life IS short. I didn’t want to live my life without experiencing sex. Experiencing love.”

She recounted dating Gooch for a few months in 2015, describing their relationship as cozy and “cuddly.” Wilson felt comfortable sleeping with him a month into their relationship, flying him out to stay with her in her NYC hotel room.
Preparing for the momentous occasion, Rebel Wilson watched porn and used a vibrator the night before. She reflected,
“Now I’m someone who lives much more in my body. And I’m loving it. Now I actually have a boyfriend and he’s handsome and rich to boot.”
Despite their intimate relationship,Rebel Wilson and Gooch split in September 2015. Reflecting on losing her virginity at an older age, Wilson now sees it as something positive, stating, “Not everybody has to lose their virginity as a teenager.”
In February 2023, Rebel Wilson confirmed her engagement to jewelry designer Ramona Agruma, highlighting her journey of further exploring her sexuality in her 40s. She shared,
“I just knew I was attracted to men, and that was the normal thing… meeting women and having feelings for a woman… I just think it’s a sign of where society kind of was.”
