Paul Walker, best known for his role in the “Fast & Furious” franchise, has died in a car accident on Saturday (November 30th, 2013) north of Los Angeles.
The actor was a passenger in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT drove by his friend and former race driver Roger Rodas.
According to multiple reports, Rodas lost control of the car and struck a tree, causing the car to burst into flames.
Both Paul and Roger died on the scene. May they rest in peace.
Walker‘s rep confirmed the tragic news via the actor’s Facebook page: “It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. ”
CNN has more info on Paul‘s death and footage from the scene of the crash if you are interested. I couldn’t. It’s too sad.
A lot of celebrities, some costars of the actor, are expressing their condolences via Twitter and saying what a great, caring and hard working man Paul was. A man named Bill Townsend published a photo of him and Walker taken just two hours before the fatal crash. He wrote: “The early news reports that Paul Walker has died. I was just with him no more than 2 or 3 hours ago. Talking cars, he was so happy seeing all his friends get together to look at the cars. I hope it wasn’t him in the wreck, but if it was, he would have passed doing something he loved, which is driving cars. The world lost an angel in Paul. He dedicated so much of his life to helping disadvantaged kids and people who are in need, with his charity recently assisting those in the tornadoes in the Midwest and the trauma in the Philippines. Just today we had hundreds of toys donated for kids, all apart of Paul’s charity. If this sad news indeed true I’m going to do whatever I can to keep Pauls goals for the charity alive.” See the photo on Bill’s Facebook page.
This is such a heartbreaking news. Still can’t believe it is true.
Paul Walker is survived by a 15-years-old daughter Meadow.
He was 40.
Roger Rodas is survived by a wife and two children. He was 38.
