Katy Perry Called Out For Lipsynching on NRJ Awards, Asked To Restart

Should we feel sorry for Katy Perry? Nah. Although this is the most embarrassing moment of her career.

Katy attended the 2013 NRJ Awards in Cannes on Saturday (Dec. 14) where she picked up two awards, International Song for “Roar” and International Female Artist.

She also performed and here’s where the problems began. Perry was lip synching her hit song “Roar” when a big technical mishap happened. As you will see in the video below, she was lip synching, but not “synching” well. I don’t think she was hearing the music because there seems to be delay between what she was lip synching and what the audience was being played.

It was looking really bad and that’s when things got worse for Katy. The host stopped her performance and asked her to start over, this time live. He was very polite, but damn! This was embarrassing!

Look at the face Katy makes! You can tell she was super uncomfortable. However, she pulled thorough and finished the performance. Of course, there was a noticeable difference between her real voice and the studio recorded version.

Perry‘s problems with performing live don’t stop here. On Sunday, she performed live on The X Factor UK final 2013 show.

The singer’s live performance of “Unconditionally” was not well-received by fans and critics. Most of the viewers flocked to social media sites to slam her performance, with one user tweeting “What number do we call to vote off Katy Perry ?”, while another wrote “I like Katy Perry but tonight she is hurting my eyes and ears.”

I wasn’t so bothered with Katy‘s performance on X Factor as I was with her outfit. What was she thinking?!

Check out the video here and share your thoughts!
