Survivor season 45: Dee Valladares, a 26-year-old entrepreneur from Miami, Florida, was crowned the Sole Survivor of Survivor season 45 on Dec. 20, beating out Austin Li Coon and Jake O’Kane in a 5-3-0 vote by the jury. Dee dominated the game with her physical prowess, social skills and strategic moves, earning the respect and admiration of her fellow castaways and the viewers.
Dee’s most memorable move was blindsiding Julie Alley, who was her closest ally for most of the game, by secretly telling her that she was the target of the vote, while keeping Austin, her showmance partner, in the dark. This move shocked Austin and the jury, who praised Dee for her boldness and honesty in the finale of Survivor season 45.
Dee also won the final immunity challenge, securing her spot in the final three. She decided to take Austin with her, leaving Katurah Topps and Jake O’Kane to compete in the fire-making challenge. Jake, who had a rocky performance in the previous challenges, managed to pull off a win and join Dee and Austin in the final tribal council.
However, Jake’s late-game surge was not enough to sway the jury, who gave him zero votes. Austin received three votes from Julie, Katurah and Tyler Johnson, who appreciated his social game and loyalty. Dee received the remaining five votes from the rest of the jury, who recognized her as the most well-rounded and deserving player of the season.

She celebrated her win with her family and friends, who joined her on stage after host Jeff Probst announced the results. She thanked everyone who supported her and said that she was proud of her game and herself.
“I came into this game with a dream and a passion, and I never gave up on it. I played hard, I played smart, and I played with my heart. I’m so grateful for this experience and this opportunity. I’m the Sole Survivor, and I can’t believe it!” Dee said after winning .
The Survivor season 45 finale also gave fans a sneak peek which will feature 90-minute episodes and a new twist that will shake up the game. The new season will premiere on Feb. 28, 2024, on CBS.
