Tiffany Haddish, the 43-year-old comedian and actress, has been arrested for driving under the influence for the second time in two years.
According to TMZ, the first to report the news, Tiffany Haddish was stopped by Beverly Hills, California, police officers on Friday, Nov. 24, after witnesses saw her sleeping in her car in the middle of Beverly Drive, with the engine still running. The officers responded to a call and arrested her for DUI. She is expected to be released on Friday.
Tiffany Haddish had performed at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood earlier that day, as part of the venue’s 43rd annual free Thanksgiving feast for the locals. After the show, she shared videos on Instagram of herself dancing at Yachtley Crew’s concert on Thursday, Nov. 23. She also posted a video on Thursday night, in which she joked about wanting to go to the Habesha party in Inglewood, to connect with her East African heritage. She made fun of her past party experiences and complained about not being allowed into the club.
Not the First time for Tiffany Haddish
This is not the first time Haddish has been arrested for DUI. In January 2022, she was arrested in Atlanta, after officers found her sleeping behind the wheel. She was charged with DUI and improper stopping on a roadway, and was released after posting a $1,666 bond.
Tiffany Haddish later joked about the incident on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, saying that she had been praying to God for a new man, and God sent her four men in uniform. She also said that she had a great lawyer, and that she needed to improve her communication with God.
The Afterparty actress also opened up about the grief she had been dealing with recently, due to the deaths of her fellow comedian Bob Saget, and her grandmother, both of whom passed away that month. She said that Saget was the first white man to ever tell her to be herself, and that her grandmother was her soulmate, who saved her life. She said that it was hard to process all the grief.
