Spice Girls denying a second movie on the works

It is official: There won’t be a sequel of the Spice Girls’ 1997 movie Spice World.

Emma Bunton used her Twitter page to address the rumor: “Guys I’m sorry but I DID NOT mention that we would be doing another film!.” And she continued: “But we are very excited about our musical in the theatre!”

It had been previously announced that the band had teamed up with Mamma Mia!’s producer Judy Craymer nonetheless to create a movie based on the current West End musical Viva Forever. Unfortunately this is not going to happen. Or at least, not in the near future.

It remains unclear if the project was real and the parties involved didn’t arrive at any agreement or if this was never supposed to happen anyway.

British paper Sunday Mirror reported last Sunday that there were a movie in production that included the band’s hits ‘Wannabe’, ‘2 Become 1’, ‘Who Do You Think Are?’ and ‘Say You’ll Be There’.
