Shia LaBeouf Plagiarized His Short Film, Issued Plagiarized Apology

What’s going on with Shia LaBeouf?! These past months he’s been in the press for nothing but crazy behavior like a feud with Alec Baldwin, which ended with Baldwin looking like the sane one, several fights, including that one time when he got beaten up by a guy for filming a woman who was puking in the street, and some plagiarism.

Turns out Shia did not learn a single lesson from all that and he’s doing the same stupid thing. Plagiarism included.

Here’s why he’s under fire these days: LaBeouf did a short film called “HowardCantour.com” which debuted at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, but he failed to do was give credit where credit is due.

Turns out Shia plagiarized the work of Daniel Clowes, an American cartoonist and screenwriter.

Once the cat was out of the bag, the “Transformers” star took to Twitter to admit his doing and issue and apology. Only he plagiarized that too.

Here’s what he tweeted:

“I f*cked up”, he added.

Only his apology made things worst. See that part where he wrote “Copying isn’t particularly creative work. Being inspired by someone else’s idea to produce something new and different IS creative work”? That’s copied from Yahoo! Answers, as Buzzfeed pointed out. The author is a user named Lili and no, she wasn’t given credit either.

And things do get worse. Clowes is now planning to pursue legal action against the actor.

After he was caught with a partially plagiarized apology too, LaBeouf took to Twitter once again to apologize. This time I don’t think he copied anyone. He’d be crazy to do it again.

I know I might be the only one, but I’ve always found Shia to be charismatic on the big screen and a good actor. Even had a star crush on him a long time ago. So maybe this is why I’m starting to feel sorry for him after reading his last tweets. Sure, what he did was terribly wrong and disrespectful to Daniel Clowes, his fans and audience, but maybe he finally learned his lesson. It’s sad for a talented young star to behave this way, so hopefully he’ll do the right thing from now on.
