Here is a set of fashionable photos from the 2014 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon held at Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday (Feb. 27). The event had a great turn out. Many A-listers attended and they were all dressed up to the nines. It’s rare that we get such great fashion at one event. Except for the Oscars.
Let’s start with 2014 Oscars-favorite and current It girl, Lupita Nyong’o. The ‘12 Years a Slave‘ actress wore a Giambatistta Valli cream two-piece consisting of a cropped top and a pencil skirt. She pulled off this look flawlessly by styling it with cream Sophia Webster pumps and a white and gold Elie Saab clutch. I love how her tiny waist and toned abs are accentuated here.
Hair and makeup were beautiful too. I love the delicate headband.
I’ve said it before. I’m sure the fashion battle between 2014 Oscars best dressed will be between Lupita and Naomie Harris. They’ve had a great awards season fashion-wise, both opting for memorable outfits. At this event, they color-coordinated.
I’m still dreaming of Naomie’s Valentino gown from the 2014 NAACP Image Awards, but I also like her on this occasion in Wes Gordon. She must be in a delicate and feminine dresses phase lately. No complaints.
Gold sandals and matching Jimmy Choo clutch accessorized the look.
Flawless hair and makeup. Naomie is so gorgeous.
Lupita and Naomie’s look were beautiful but it’s time for some color. I’m happy to see that Kerry Washingon‘s maternity style has improved. A lot. Kerry wore a beautiful blue dress by Calvin Klein styled with black pumps by Jimmy Choo and a fabulous clutch.
Beautiful curls and smokey eyes completed the look.
Brandy Norwood stood out in a fiery red suit. I love it. It’s unexpected, it’s edgy, but still classy. She styled her Elena Reva suit with matching pumps and a snakeskin clutch.
Brandy, who turned 35 recently, also debuted a new hairstyle.
