Lena Dunham Tweets Then Deletes Molestation Joke, Apologizes For It

Lena Dunham apologizes for molestation tweet

Lena Dunham is under fire for tweeting a molestation joke fresh off her Saturday Nigh Live gig on Sunday (March 9).

Lena appeared naked in one of the sketch scenes and when a fan tweeted “you don’t always have to get naked!”, the ‘Girls‘ star replied “Please tell that to my uncle, mister. He’s been making me!

The joke quickly got a lot of negative reactions from fellow Twitter users, who slammed Dunham for the insensitive tweet.

Realizing the mistake she’d made, the actress deleted the tweet and posted an apology.

I just made and deleted a not so great molestation joke. Sorry guys. I am really sleepy.

She continued “SNL has a way bigger audience than our usual cozy girls audience, so I was seeing a rash of very different kinds of twitter rage.

Lena concluded with “But I should know better, and do. Even naked girls get embarrassed. Sleep well and thanks for an amazing weekend.
