Jennifer Lopez facing a $40 million lawsuit for canceling Cyprus concert

She had taken the decision to cancel the show because of political reasons. The concert was scheduled to be held on the 24th of July.

The Turkish company which manages the hotel, where the concert was due to be held clarified that if the singer wants then she still has time to change her mind. However the officials of the company said that in case Jennifer Lopez doesn’t turn up for the concert, then they wouldn’t take things lying down and sue her for damages.

“The contract has not been terminated. If she does not show up for the concert, we will begin a procedure in the courts to claim 35-40 million dollars in damages,” according to Murat Bozoglu.

He also added that there is no clause in the contract related to cancellation of the show.

It may be recalled that Jennifer Lopez was scheduled to perform at the new Cratos Premium hotel and casino complex on the occasion of her 41st birthday. But she cancelled the show, because she didn’t intend to make a political statement in the ethnically divided country.
