Christina Aguilera cancels summer tour

Christina Aguilera canceled this Monday her plans for a summer concert tour. She blame a new film and her upcoming album that didn’t let her time to rehearsals for the concert.

The pop singer will appear in new movie “Burlesque,” and she is currently promoting a new album “Bionic,” which is set for release on June 8.

“The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn’t possible,” a statement from the diva said.

The first single from “Bionic,” a tune called “Not Myself Tonight,” debuted in March on Aguilera’s official website and became available on iTunes in April.

The singer has also released a second single off her upcoming album, “Woohoo,” featuring rapper Nicki Minaj.

The best chance to see Aguilera in the meantime will be to tune in to Wednesday night’s “American Idol” finale and the June 6 MTV Movie Awards, where she is also scheduled to perform.

She is one more among the cancellations of this summer, U2 had to cancel their first appearance after Bono surgically intervention.
