Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce engagement
Pop superstar Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are planning to take their relationship to the next level, according to multiple sources. The couple, who have been dating for about a year, are reportedly eyeing a summer engagement, after keeping their romance under wraps for several months.
A source close to Swift told that there is a lot of excitement in her camp about the impending proposal, which is expected to happen on their one-year anniversary in July.
“They don’t want it to seem like it’s rushed insanity,” the source said, adding that Kelce did not pop the question over the winter holidays or Valentine’s Day for the same reason. “Taylor and Travis discussed it and there is a plan.”
Summer of Love for Couple
Swift, 34, and Kelce, 34, made their first public appearance as a couple in September, when she attended his game at Arrowhead Stadium. However, the singer later revealed in her Time magazine Person of the Year interview that they had been seeing each other since July, after he tried to give her his phone number at one of her concerts.
“We started hanging out right after that,” Swift said. “So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
She also explained why they decided to go public with their relationship, saying: “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care… The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
Kelce, who is one of the best players in the NFL, has also shown his commitment to Swift by asking her father Scott Swift for his blessing to marry her, according to a source close to him.
“Scott has been asked for his blessing and has wholeheartedly given it, and Travis has been talking to friends about a ring,” the source said.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce recently spent the holidays together with their families and were spotted kissing on New Year’s Eve.
