A recently surfaced surveillance video from a Los Angeles hotel hallway allegedly shows Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in 2016. The footage, which was obtained by CNN, appears to corroborate allegations made by Ventura in a November 2023 lawsuit.
Footage Details Violent Altercation
The incident reportedly took place on March 5, 2016, at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, California. The surveillance video shows Ventura, 37, leaving a hotel room with several bags and walking briskly towards the elevators, dressed in a black hoodie, jeans, and tennis shoes.
Moments later, Combs, 54, is seen running down the hallway wearing only a bath towel and socks. He catches up to Ventura, grabs her by the back of the neck, and throws her to the ground. He then retrieves her bags from the floor and kicks her a second time.
Continuous Assault Captured
The footage further shows Sean “Diddy” Combs dragging Ventura by her hoodie towards a hotel room before walking away. Ventura eventually stands up, collects her belongings, and picks up a phone near the elevators. Combs returns, shoves her, and sits in a nearby chair. He then grabs an object from a table and throws it forcefully at Ventura.
Legal Action and Public Outcry
Douglas H. Wigdor, Ventura’s attorney, expressed horror at the video, stating, “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
Ventura’s lawsuit also claims that Combs paid the InterContinental $50,000 for the security footage of the incident.
Post-Incident Developments
Despite the alleged assault, Ventura and Combs, who were in an on-and-off relationship from 2007 to 2018, were seen together just two days later at the LA premiere of “A Perfect Match.”
