Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has turned the tables on disgraced former Congressman George Santos, who recently resorted to the video-sharing platform Cameo for income following his expulsion from the House of Representatives.
Santos, facing scrutiny for charging hundreds of dollars per personalized video request on Cameo, found himself in the spotlight on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” as the comedian anonymously submitted outlandish requests to Santos’ account, turning it into a recurring segment called “Will Santos Say It?” Kimmel showcased the videos on his show, leading to a public uproar and, unexpectedly, a demand for $20,000 from Santos.
In response to Santos’ demand, Kimmel expressed amusement on his show, stating, “[Santos] has claimed he’s made more money in seven days than he did in Congress for a year, and part of that money came from me. Can you imagine if I get sued by George Santos for fraud? How good would that be? It would be like a dream come true.”
George Santos’ Cameo Cash Grab
Kimmel went on to jest that Santos, rather than seeking payment, should be thanking him for the increased visibility that has reportedly led to a surge in Santos’ Cameo price.
Despite George Santos’ legal threats, Kimmel remains defiant, revealing on Monday’s episode that he possesses a “big stockpile” of Cameos yet to be revealed. The late-night host continued to poke fun at Santos, showcasing two more joke Cameos, including one where Santos congratulates a fictional blind woman for obtaining her driver’s license, only to end up in a major car accident the next day.
Kimmel also took credit for a viral Cameo in which Santos congratulates a fictional man named Heath for “coming out as a furry” and being allowed to work at Arbys in a fursuit. The Cameo featured Santos signing off with a humorous “Yiff, Yiff, Yiff,” a term associated with the furry community.
As the Cameo saga unfolds, it seems that George Santos may have inadvertently stepped into the comedic crosshairs of Jimmy Kimmel, with no signs of the late-night host backing down.
