The 28th annual Critics Choice Awards 2024 took center stage, honoring the best achievements in film and television over the past year in Hollywood. With a star-studded guest list and a lineup of prestigious awards, the evening showcased the industry’s top talent and highlighted outstanding works across various genres.
Hosted by Chelsea Handler, the ceremony honored the best performances and productions in film and television from 2023.
Among the notable winners were Robert Downey Jr. for his role in “Oppenheimer,” Emma Stone for “Poor Things,” and the ensemble cast of “Succession,” including Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook. “Barbie,” featuring Margot Robbie, America Ferrera, and Ryan Gosling, secured a remarkable 18 nominations, winning several awards including Best Comedy. However, it was “Oppenheimer” that took home the coveted Best Picture award, along with seven other honors from the Critics Choice Association, which is comprised of television, radio, and online critics.
In the film category, “Oppenheimer” and “Poor Things” led with 13 nominations each, closely followed by “Killers of the Flower Moon” with 12. On the television front, “The Morning Show” led with six nominations, closely followed by “Succession” with five nods, while shows like “Abbott Elementary” and “Loki” earned four nominations each.
