Brad Pitt Formula 1 Biopic
Brad Pitt is not only a Hollywood star, but also a skilled driver. The actor is currently working on a Formula 1 biopic, in which he plays a retired racer who returns to the sport to mentor a young talent. According to producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Pitt’s performance behind the wheel has impressed the real racers.
Bruckheimer, 80, spoke about the upcoming film on Saturday, November 18, while attending the Formula 1 Grand Prix with Pitt, 59, in Las Vegas. “It’ll be very exciting,” he said. “We have Brad Pitt racing. We did some background filming and we’ll be back here next year.”
He praised Pitt’s abilities on the track, saying, “He does it all himself. He’s an amazing athlete, the drivers are amazed at how good he is.”
The producer also revealed that the film’s production had been delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which ended earlier this month. The strike, which began in July, was followed by the WGA strike, which lasted from May to September. Both unions were fighting for better labor conditions, wages and AI restrictions for their members against the AMPTP.
With the strikes over, Bruckheimer said that his crew filmed some scenes in Las Vegas during the weekend event. He also said that the cast will resume shooting in the cars after the first of the year.
Brad Pitt to restart filming in December
Brad Pitt, meanwhile, will start filming in mid-December, according to Bruckheimer. He explained that the film is a character-driven drama, focusing on the lives and relationships of the racers, the team managers and the people around them. “It’s a great character study, the characters, drivers, the people around them who run those teams, the managers of the teams,” he said.
The film, which does not have an official title yet, stars Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a fictional racer who comes out of retirement to help train Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris. The duo were seen in white racing jumpsuits at the British Grand Prix in July, where they shot some scenes and mingled with the real racers.
Pitt is also enjoying his personal life, as he is dating model Ines de Ramon. The couple, who were first spotted together at a Bono concert in Los Angeles in November 2022, are reportedly in love and going strong. A source told that earlier this month that Pitt and de Ramon, 33, are not rushing into marriage, but are focused on the future.
