Former First Lady Melania Trump and her stepdaughter Ivanka Trump turned heads at the 2024 Republican National Convention. The duo appeared onstage at the Fiserv Forum on Wednesday, as the 45th president officially accepted the GOP nomination to run against President Joe Biden in the upcoming election.
Melania, 54, exuded elegance in a red skirt suit, standing proudly beside her husband as he signed the nomination documents. Ivanka Trump mirrored this sophistication in a white suit adorned with accent buttons. Also present was Donald’s son, Eric Trump, adding to the family support onstage.
Tiffany Trump, Donald’s youngest daughter, watched from the audience alongside Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner. Eric Trump had earlier confirmed on “CBS Mornings” that both Melania and Ivanka would be attending the convention, saying,
“They’re coming in, and they’re coming in full force and effect, so they’ll certainly be here. Ivanka has been an incredible supporter of my father. There’s no family in political history that has remained closer.”
Ivanka Trump, who served as a senior advisor during her father’s administration from 2017 to 2021, continues to be a prominent figure in the Trump family’s political activities.
The convention was already a family affair, with Donald Trump Jr. and his daughter, Kai Trump, making appearances earlier in the week. Kai, 17, shared touching memories of her grandfather, describing him as a “normal grandpa” who proudly celebrated her achievements and always made time for family despite his legal challenges.
In a heartfelt speech, Kai highlighted her grandfather’s unwavering support, even amidst his ongoing legal battles, including his recent conviction for falsifying business records. She said,
“Even when he’s going through all of these court cases, he always asks me how I’m doing. He always encourages me to push myself to be the most successful person I can be. Obviously, he sets the bar pretty high, but who knows? Maybe one day I’ll catch him.”
Adding to the dramatic events of the convention, Donald Trump arrived with his ear wrapped in a bandage after being shot at a rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
