Bam Margera, the former Jackass star who has been struggling with legal and personal issues, has found love again. He announced his engagement to Dannii Marie, his girlfriend of six months, in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly on Wednesday.
BamMargera, 44, said that Marie has been a positive influence on his life, helping him find structure and stability. He revealed that he proposed to her in October, after they started dating in July.
“We’re just a really good team,” he told Us Weekly. “I never had structure before. I always woke up not knowing what to do with the day. I would just look across the street, see an Irish pub and be like, ‘That looks like fun.’ Now I wake up, I walk the dogs, I stretch, I go to the gym, I go skateboarding. Everything’s a structured fun schedule.”

Bam Margera’s engagement comes amid his ongoing legal troubles, stemming from a domestic dispute that led to his arrest in April. According to documents, Margera was facing misdemeanor charges after his brother, Jesse Margera, called the police to report a violent altercation at their Pennsylvania home. Margera’s father, Phil Margera Jr., also confirmed the incident to the police, who said that Margera fled into the woods before they arrived.
Margera’s arrest followed his legal separation from his estranged wife, Nicole Boyd, who filed for divorce in February. In November, Boyd reportedly obtained sole custody of their son, Phoenix, who will turn 6 on Dec. 23.
Bam Margera, who rose to fame as a stunt performer and prankster on Jackass, has also been battling substance abuse and mental health issues for years. He was fired from the upcoming Jackass 4 movie in February, after he failed to comply with the production’s wellness agreement. He later posted a series of videos on social media, ranting against his former co-stars and threatening to sue them.
Margera said that he is now focused on his recovery and his relationship with Marie, who he described as his “soulmate”.
“She’s the best thing that ever happened to me,” he said. “She’s my rock, my angel, my everything.”
