Bob Dylan can now perform in China

It wasn’t an easy journey for Bob Dylan, but after serious struggles, the artist has been allowed to perform in Beijing, China, between March 30 and April 12. He is still managing the permit to perform an additional concert in Shangai.

During the sixties, Dylan became one of the most active artistic assets in the anti-establishment and anti-Vietnam War movement, however he hasn’t been engaging in any other political cause in the past years.

We can say Dylan was lucky, as many other Western artists have been denied the permit to perform in the country. In 2009, British band Oasis was denied the entrance in the state by the government after being declared “unsuitable” because of their links to the Free Tibet campaign.
Congrats Dylan! This is good news at so many different levels!
