Kanye West recently made waves with an unexpected appearance in Florida. The controversial rapper joined Travis Scott during his Jan. 31 show, taking the stage to perform his 2010 ballad “Runaway.”
The Orlando stop of Travis’ Circus Maximus tour, promoting his 2023 album Utopia, saw an electrifying moment when he surprised the audience by starting the opening notes of Kanye West’ My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy song. Kanye, sporting a Friday the 13th-style white hockey mask, then joined him on stage.
Despite facing backlash and professional setbacks, including being ousted from the Creative Arts Agency and losing multiple fashion deals due to controversial remarks in 2022, the 46-year-old artist delivered a captivating performance. He showcased his upcoming album Vultures with the title track and treated the crowd to hits like “All of the Lights,” “Fade,” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” and “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1.”
This isn’t the first time Kanye has graced Travis’ tour. Last year, he made a surprise appearance at the Circus Maximus stadium in Rome. Travis himself acknowledged Kanye’s influence, declaring, “There is no Utopia without Kanye West… There is no Travis Scott without Kanye West.”

As Kanye West gears up for the release of his much-anticipated album, originally scheduled for Jan. 12 but now set for Feb. 9, he has been making strategic moves to regain the spotlight. In a notable event last year, he brought his daughter North, who will feature on his album, on stage during a Vultures listening party in Miami. The 10-year-old stole the show with her performance, dancing to her verse that includes the lyrics: “Don’t try to test me / It’s gonna get messy / Just, just bless me, bless me / It’s your bestie Miss, Miss Westie.”
