Angelina Jolie has made shocking allegations against her ex-husband Brad Pitt, claiming that his physical abuse towards her began long before their infamous 2016 plane incident.
According to documents obtained by Page Six, Jolie’s legal team revealed Pitt’s alleged abusive behavior in an attempt to release communications that would show Pitt’s refusal to allow Jolie to sell her portion of their Chateau Miraval French winery unless she signed a restrictive nondisclosure agreement (NDA).
The document stated, “While Pitt’s history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well. Jolie then immediately left him.”
The filing further alleged that Brad Pitt, 60, wanted Angelina Jolie, 48, to sign an NDA that would cover his “personal misconduct, whether related to Miraval or not,” in an attempt to prevent her from speaking out about his alleged abuse.

Jolie’s lawyers also claimed that Pitt wanted her to remain silent after discovering in 2021 that she submitted sealed documents, including emails and summaries of family testimony, to help settle their child custody dispute. Pitt reportedly agreed to purchase Jolie’s shares of the winery but backed out, fearing that the sealed documents “could eventually become public.”
In response to these allegations, Jolie’s attorney Paul Murphy stated, “By refusing to buy her interest but then suing her, Mr. Pitt put directly at issue why that NDA was so important to him and what he hoped it would bury: his abuse of Ms. Jolie and their family.”
However, a source familiar with Pitt told that Jolie “continually tries to distract from legal losses by offering irrelevant or inaccurate information” in court filings. The source added, “There’s a pattern that every time she loses, she continues to come back to this… there’s nothing new here.”
This latest development comes after documents obtained in June 2023 revealed Pitt’s claim that Jolie sold her shares of Château Miraval out of spite after he was granted joint custody of their six children, a decision that was later overturned. The documents also alleged that Jolie presented a broader NDA agreement while Pitt’s team presented a standard NDA intended solely to protect the business.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who wed in 2014, share six children: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 17, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15. Their custody battle and legal disputes continue amidst these allegations and counter-allegations.
