Jennifer Lawrence is no stranger to fashion risks, but sometimes they don’t pay off. The actress recently experienced a wardrobe malfunction while attending a festive lighting ceremony at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. But she didn’t let it ruin her night.
The event, which took place on Nov. 20, celebrated the department store’s holiday display, as well as Dior’s new “Carousel of Dreams” installation. Jennifer, who is an ambassador for the French brand, was invited to give a speech and unveil the dazzling window display.
However, things didn’t go as planned when her belt suddenly popped off and fell to the ground with a loud noise.

“I’m so sorry,” Jennifer Lawrence said, covering her mouth in shock, as seen in a Nov. 21 Instagram video shared by WWD, “that was so loud—my belt popped off!”
But instead of making a fuss, the No Hard Feelings star quickly recovered and continued her speech, showing off her professionalism and sense of humor.
As for the rest of her outfit, the 33-year-old looked chic in a black blazer coat over a white button-down shirt and a black pleated skirt. She accessorized with a thin black belt, matching boots and a silver chain bracelet.
Of course, this was not the first time Jennifer Lawrence made a fashion statement. The Don’t Look Up star has been rocking some daring looks on the red carpet lately.
In June, she attended the London premiere of her new film No Hard Feelings, wearing a sheer gown with floral appliqués that left little to the imagination. She completed her edgy look with a black bandeau bra and leather gloves.
And before that, she stunned at the Cannes Film Festival in May, wearing a fiery red Dior gown with a ruffled neckline and a long train. She also ditched her heels and opted for black flip-flops instead, proving that she can pull off anything.
Jennifer is not afraid to experiment with her style, and we love her for that. Even when things go wrong, she handles it like a pro. That’s why she’s one of our favorite fashion icons.
