Eight years after the tragic passing of his wife Joey, country music singer Rory Feek has remarried. The 59-year-old singer announced the joyful news in a blog post, sharing details about the intimate ceremony that took place on July 14th in Greycliff, Montana.
A New Chapter for Rory Feek with Rebecca
Rory Feek’s new wife is Rebecca, his daughter Indiana’s schoolteacher. The ceremony, held “under a beautiful timber-frame pavilion,” was attended by close friends and family, including their 10-year-old daughter.
Feek surprised both Rebecca and their guests with a heartfelt song he wrote and performed for the occasion, titled “I Do.” A music video accompanying the blog post offers a glimpse into the ceremony, showcasing Rebecca’s elegant gown and the couple’s emotional exchange at the altar.
Reflecting on his renewed happiness, Feek expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to love again. “To not only feel loved but to have the chance to give love once more,” he wrote. He also emphasized the importance of Indiana officially welcoming Rebecca into the family.
“I think by far my and her favorite moment of the wedding was this one: When Indiana was given the gift of having a Mama in her life again. And Rebecca was given the gift of being a mother. And we became a family,” he shared.
Feek elaborated on his relationship with Rebecca and their decision to marry. He explained how they had initially been hesitant due to Indiana’s perception of Rebecca as her teacher. However, everything changed in March when Indiana made a heartwarming request.
Indiana’s Special Request
“Rebecca said, ‘Rory, Indiana just asked me something that I think you need to hear,'” Feek wrote. He continued, “I asked Indy, and she told me that she said, ‘Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa.'”
This heartfelt request from their daughter solidified their decision to move forward with marriage. This significant event comes just after the eighth anniversary of Joey’s passing from cancer in 2016.
