Brandi Glanville, former star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” has accused Bravo head honcho Andy Cohen of sexual harassment in a letter sent by her attorneys to NBC, Shed Media, and Warner Bros. Glanville, 51, alleges that Cohen, 55, sent her a video in 2022, in which he appeared “obviously inebriated.”
According to the letter, Cohen allegedly “boasted” in the video that he wanted to “sleep with another Bravo star” while “thinking” of Glanville. He then invited Glanville to watch him engage in a sexual act via FaceTime. The identity of the Bravo star Cohen allegedly wanted to hook up with was not disclosed in the letter.
Brandi Glanville’s Accusations Against Andy Cohen
The letter further states, “Mr. Cohen was Ms. Glanville’s boss at the time and exercised complete and total control over her career. This was an extraordinary abuse of power that left Ms. Glanville feeling trapped and disgusted. It is inconceivable that Mr. Cohen remains in his post in spite of this behavior and harkens back to the bad old days of Matt Lauer and NBC News when profits were prioritized over people.”
Cohen responded to the accusation on X Thursday, stating that the sex joke was “meant in jest.” “The video shows Kate Chastain and I very clearly joking to Brandi,” he tweeted. “It was absolutely meant in jest, and Brandi’s response clearly communicated she was in on the joke. That said, it was totally inappropriate and I apologize.”
Not many Bravo stars have publicly spoken out against Cohen, and it appears none have come forward to accuse him of sexual harassment in the past. However, Bethenny Frankel, former star of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” has accused Cohen of belittling racism at the network. Nene Leakes, former star of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” previously sued Bravo, claiming she was discriminated against because of her race, but then withdrew the suit.
Kathy Griffin, who once starred on “My Life on the D-List” on Bravo, famously had a fallout with Cohen when she accused him of offering her cocaine and treating her “like a dog” during their tenure together.
History of Accusations Against Cohen
The letter from Glanville’s attorneys, written by lawyers Bryan Freedman and Mark Geragos, comes after Caroline Manzo filed a lawsuit against Bravo, accusing production companies involved with the network of not protecting her during an alleged sexual assault incident with Glanville.
Brandi Glanville has repeatedly denied the claims made against her and has claimed she had to join OnlyFans to save her from financial distress due to the fallout from the allegations.
Her lawyers are now blasting Cohen and the top media companies behind the “Housewives” franchise, alleging that they, too, have engaged in sexual misconduct.
Freedman and Geragos claim in the letter that NBC and Shed Media are allegedly “deliberately misconstruing an interaction” between Glanville and a production executive named Shawn Loesser. “Mr. Loesser has a history of soliciting and/or engaging in sexual relations with female reality stars under his purview,” the attorneys allege. “Ms. Glanville is no exception. Mr. Loesser has always been transparent about his attraction to Ms. Glanville.”
Freedman stated, “Mark Geragos and I have heard from thousands of current and former cast members on reality shows about the physical and emotional harm inflicted on them by virtue of their participation.” He added, “NBC, Bravo, Warner Bros., and Shed Media intentionally obscure their legal rights, bind them to illegal contracts, and knowingly cause them to suffer in silence. We know there are untold numbers of innocent victims who have yet to tell their stories or seek legal redress.”
Brandi Glanville and her team are threatening to pursue legal action and have asked NBC, Shed Media, and Warner Bros. to preserve all documentation that may be pertinent to their case.
