Jay-Z, Eminem singing on the roof

When word leaked of the surprise show concern
about safety and logistics started. They changed the location from
the marquee to the roof following the footsteps of Paul McCartney,
who played there last July. In a statement, the Mayor’s Office of
Film, Theater and Broadcasting said the theater’s roof “is
private property, is not visible from street level, and is beyond the
scope of our permit.”

On Monday, Jay flanked by Eminem, Jigga
took to the roof of the building housing the Ed Sullivan Theater and
ripped off a performance for about 100 hard-core fans who earned the
right to see the pair live by winning contests on Facebook and

CBS News reported that the three-song
set began with “Not Afraid,” a song from Eminem’s new album,
“Recovery,” followed by “On to the Next One” from Jay-Z’s
album “The Blueprint 3? and “Renegade,” a Jay-Z/Eminem duet
from “The Blueprint.”

The duo’s
performance will air on this Friday’s episode of the “Late Show
With David Letterman” The pair promoted that way a couple of
stadium concerts together “This is a once in a lifetime set of
shows, and I know we’re both really going to bring it to our
hometowns, … The fans are going to love this — and so am I. It’s
gonna be historic.”.
